How to Use Your TV As a Monitor for Your Computer
TV screen can be used as a secondary monitor for your computer. The transformation is especially preferable for viewing movies or games. If you want to surf the net or check an email, the difference between television and screen resolution can become disturbing and tiring for the eyes, even if a LCD with HD.
Why use a TV as a monitor? In need of space, the economy, for a video game or many more reasons… More important is to find out how.
Not to go hunting without a gun, make sure you have around:
* S-video cable (with scart socket), father or father-VGA cable HDMI cable depending on the available ports on your TV.
* Video card that allows dual display and TV output
* Conversion plug adapter
* Video Cable Joint
* Computer.
Here are the steps you have to browse:
* monitor resolution set at the lowest possible level, if possible 640 x 480 or x 800 x 600;
* television monitor and check whether there is a synchronization type output jack / input (S-video or mixed jack);
If there is, connect them with a suitable cable, such as an S-video cable. TV screen performance can be worse if you surf the net or check an email.
* Another option is to buy, from an electronics shop or online, a plug a standard VGA signal to transform the computer into a mixed video signal;
* Connect a video cable joint (RCA) to input the jack on the TV.
* Connecting cable can be replaced with a cable splitter or a VCR, thus obtaining two-way video output from your computer, and another one by the television monitor;
* Another option is to buy another video card that allows output to two screens, but in this case to analyze computer performance and system used.
Warning:
* After connection, check whether your TV set on channel video or S-video in order to receive images from your computer, checking the TV menu and its user manual
* For better picture quality, you can purchase a digital television (HD ready LCD or Plasma or Full HD)
If the LCD has a VGA plug everything you need to do is to connect the computer and the TV via a VGA cable dad-dad, to make necessary adjustments in the computer (to them “tell” that are present two monitors) and look of the TV menu mode or VGA computer.
