How do you get your computer to wake out of standby mode with a keystroke?

Currently, my desktop PC, when in standby mode, can only be woken up by hitting the computer’s power button. Is there a way to configure the computer to wake up out of standby by just pushing one keyboard button or by clicking the mouse?
